2012 355 Days and Counting
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the year 2012 or possibly the beginning of the end as discussed on this web page. This page discusses the infamous Mayan calendar and possible scenarios than could affect the planet, if not bring civilization to an end. It also contains 2012 predictions from other sources like the Bible; so regardless of your beliefs you can read about the beginning of the end from people/books you trust. Personally I believe something will happen, but then I've been around a very long time and have acquired more insight than I care to share. Years ago I was told I was put on this planet to enlighten mankind (One of the predictions on that page is about Planet X returning. This planet was originally referred to as Nibiru by the Sumerians, and according to their mythology was the home planet of a race of beings known as the Anunnaki that originally created humanity.) If I was from this planet, I wonder if my return ticket can be used by my loved ones as well. I've never felt totally at peace on this rock and have wished to leave it for some alternate reality for some time; now it looks like my wait is over. I didn't look at all the predictions (biblical bullshit written by power hungry apostolic wannabes), but it probably refers back to Armageddon and the end of days when the righteous will be saved and/or resurrected while everyone else perishes; I think this prophecy has been manipulated over the years. Just as I have manipulated this from Wikipedia: "After the destruction of the Beast at the Second Coming of Jesus, the promised Kingdom is set up, in which Jesus and the Saints will rule for a thousand years. Satan is then loosed "for a season" and goes out to deceive the nations, specifically, GOP and Tea Party.[24]" Actually if Armageddon or a final battle takes place I believe it will be the different factions of the GOP lined up like sheep behind demigod righteous right-wing war mongering Presidential candidates each of whom is vowing to be more Christian than the others. In the final battle they and their followers will all implode and leaving behind those who believe in love and peace. One way or another I am willing to accept this as my final year on this planet. I will be 65 in May and do not look or feel it; but I am tired of trying to enlighten mankind (it is easier to enlighten my dogs or a chimp) and just want to enjoy life (not retire from it) and/or the end of it. Now that I have shared this information with you; I will hope and pray (in my own demented way) that you will make the earth a better place to be this year (who knows the Mayans may have been wrong).

Turkeys are so dumb they look up in the rain and drown Turkeys are too dumb to know how to reproduce on their own. Turkeys can’t feel pain
These myths are based on non-sense, however if you watch the birds in their native habitat you'll find yourself wondering as I do whether there isn't a bit of fact that they are truly dumb.

And Everyone Should Be Thankful
That a government "Of the People, by the People, and for the People" still exist, but as we watch Congress fail to do its job because it is more interested in pandering to corporations and special interest; we can not be sure that it will not parish from this Earth.

This too started as peaceful protest Until violence was used against protesters So it begins; a peaceful sit-in made violent by politicians and the police. As a die hard activist going back to 60's following my return from the Vietnam war I can remember this same turn of events. Arrest were made and at Kent state people killed, but it didn't kill the movement or even slow it down; instead it grew and we put an end to that war. Yesterday Occupy Oakland protesters were arrested, but there were also arrest made during the Occupy Albuquerque sit-in at the University of New Mexico and also in Atlanta. What this story shows is the establishment is getting worried and there is a good reason why; the movement is growing and getting support from international icons. Yesterday in New York Egyptian activists Asmaa Mahfouz and Ahmed Maher spoke to the massive crowd of protesters who started this movement. These names may mean nothing to people in Des Moines or the Tea Party, but Asmaa is the 26 y/o who inspired millions of Egyptians to bring about the end of the Mubarak rule in Egypt. She inspired people and they toppled an oppressive government. People here might say our government is not oppressive and these people are radicals who should be jailed; that is oppression. People in this country revolted over 200 years ago because they were oppressed and unfairly taxed; that revolution brought about a Constitution and Bill of Rights that guaranteed the people of this nation the right to assemble and the right to speak freely. Since those documents were written politicians have slowly whittled away at those rights; now permits are required to assemble and if they grant it and do not like what is freely being said they arrest you. Mubarak, the Egyptian government under him and their military tried to stop free speech there as well; it didn't work. While the GOP panders to the ultra right wing, Tea Party and religious right a movement is growing to take back America for the people. A movement caused by the government's reckless disregard for regulating banks and brokerage firms that culminated in a financial collapse under the Bush administration. This collapse disenfranchised millions of Americans; savings, jobs and homes were lost and the recovery has been slow while the banks and brokerage firms returned to their business as usual way of life handing out bonuses to those who created the problem. News flash for those in DC and on Wall Street; the people are hungry and nothing spurs a revolution like huger (look at Russia's history). The people of this nation out number Wall Street Bankers and Brokers; the people of this country have been forced to pay taxes that politicians have spent paying for their mistakes. The people and protesters will not be silenced by the police or national guard now anymore than they were in the 60's and 70's; their numbers will only increase. Power to the People!

Misadventure While Traveling
I am on a job (Socorro, NM) away from home (New Orleans, LA) and had to drive there 3 weeks ago. Being older and wiser than I was when I traveled (hitch-hiked) across country in the 70's; I now know there are a lot of bad guys out there who will hurt or kill you for what ever you have, so I carried a gun on my drive. The automatic and a spare clip fit nicely in my computer bag and were left there for the past three weeks. Having completed our first objective the company allowed me a long weekend and a flight home. I decided only to carry the computer bag on the plane. The night before the flight I took the gun out along with a pocket knife and stashed them in my drawer at the hotel. I drove an hour and a half to the Albuquerque Airport and parked my truck. I opened the bag and dumped my cell phone, keys and everything else that was in my pockets into a pocket in the bag. As I walked to the terminal I began to worry that I hadn't turned off the coffee pot in my room. As I approached the scanner I began to worry that I hadn't locked the truck. I took off my boots, hat, coat and belt and put them in the plastic tubs provided by TSA. I took the computer out and put it in one tub and the bag in the next and shoved the six tubs toward the x-ray device. I was then directed into the scanner.
I know a lot of people have a problem with this process, but I don't and after 1 minute or less I was cleared to proceed. I stepped to the other side of the conveyor to retrieve my belongings, but they hadn't all come out the other side. I waited and noticed the TSA agent studying something after which he called a second agent over and then a call to their supervisor was made; that's when it hit me. I had left the fully loaded spare clip in the bag. "You can toss it" I said, knowing that you can't carry live ammunition on to a plane.

"It's not that easy" responded the agent who took me to a seat after directing me to pick up the rest of my stuff. A local cop asked me about the clip and the gun it belonged to; while they took my license and ran it for "wants and warrants". Everyone was very nice and apologetic as they gave me my license back and advised me that I would receive a letter from "Homeland Security". My boss had been to the job site just the day before and had told a story about a friend of his that had been stopped because he had a shock gag pen. In that instance he was detained and denied access to his flight, but allowed to fly out on the next flight. He got a letter from Homeland Security with a $500 fine which he could pay; protest in Arlington, VA and then pay or be put on the "No fly" list. I wasn't detained and was allowed on my flight home. As i sat waiting for the flight I felt like an idiot knowing I too would be fined and worrying about the coffee pot in my apartment at the hotel. When I got home I Googled the TSA restrictions and found out anyone caught carrying ammunition may face a fine up to $10,000. Now I am really worried, because I do not have $10,000 and am afraid I'll get back to my apartment only to find the charred remains of the gun and an arson arrest warrant. I really didn't want the job in New Mexico to begin with and now probably have Homeland Security bugging my phone and emails. I don't mind not flying; it will mean no more 3 day weekends since it takes 2 days to drive either way, but as a decorated veteran of the Vietnam war would hate to think my country would see me as a threat. What I don't want is to be put on this list. My next flight might be to Gitmo

Is she: 1. A raging harpy 2. A raving maniac 3. A loose cannon 4. A she devil 5. A castrating bitch 6. Suffering from grandiose delusions 7. All of the above The answer is 7. All of the aboveAnd her people complained about the News Week magazine cover photo? The woman photographs like Oscar Wilde's Dorian Gray; revealing the hate, venom and evil within. At least Sarah Palin smiles when she spews her nonsense.

It makes no difference Where you live What flag you wave You are all governed By a small group of politicians These people Do and say Whatever the populace Wants to hear To gain political power But they are seldom driven By altruistic desires Power, greed and ambition drive them No matter who they are What their initial intent Might have been Once they dip their toe In the polluted political swamp They are immediately possessed By the demon She woos them In the guise of special interest Willing to fund them And feed their ambition She blinds them To the misery of the people They govern She deafens them To the voices That elected them She encourages the lies She is the power behind them And the enemy of common good And when the populace sees her Discovers her in one politician She exposes him Only to infect That one who follows Male or female She does not care She is the parasite In all of them Who creates the parasites That govern us

Regarding America's Financial Woes
1. To those of you who voted these politicians in: I am sure that those who truly are a threat to this country thank you. By checking the box or punching the chad next to their names you did what extremist have failed to do for over 200 years; weakened the nation as a whole.
2. To those of you who believe that the representatives of your party are better able to understand the needs of "the people" than the representatives of the opposing party: Contact them and ask them when the last time they broke a sweat actually working for their pay was.
3. It is not the government that is flawed, it is the logic of those who govern that is flawed. Anyone who runs a household understands that if you spend more than you make and depend on credit to get by will only lead to your financial ruin and the loss of all that you possess.
4. Politicians of both parties have made promises that they would right the wrongs of their predecessors; many have been given multiple terms and yet they have done nothing. The people of this country are like sheep who have put their trust in wolves to guard the flock.
5. Finally though not a christian by any stretch of the imagination I leave you with a bible verse Job 4:8 According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity And those who sow trouble harvest what they sow
